In cooperation with the Lawrence County Commission and the Lawrence County School Board, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is very proud to have a School Resource Officer in every public school in Lawrence County.

These men and women are in our schools to not only react to events, but to also be a proactive force to encounter and stop malicious events from ever happening. The SRO program is a form of community policing that is effective because it allows officers to form relationships with faculty, staff and students that often heads off incidents that might occur otherwise.
